Poorly Maintained Exterior Staircase – Plaintiff Fell Down Stairs Outside His Apartment Resulting in Leg and Hip
Pain
The plaintiff was walking down the stairs to get a taxi outside of his apartment when he was caused to trip and
fall due to a hole in the step where concrete had given way over the years and was not properly maintained. He
felt pain in his hip and his leg and suffered abrasions to his elbow and hand. He was taken by ambulance to the
hospital.
As a result of this accident, the plaintiff had trouble walking and taking the stairs up to his apartment. He
could no longer stand or walk without experiencing pain in his hip and legs and had to undergo physical therapy
to help repair his injuries.
